Quiet Prayer

When I wandered in the wilderness
You promised you would lead me.
Confused within the world maze
You left a string to guide me.
You led me from the darkness
For which I have to thank you.
With your hand to hold me
I walk in brilliant hallways.
The echo of your footstep sounds
Like rain upon my window,
While the memory of your fingertips
Convulses me like lightening.
The softness of your slender arms
When they are wrapped around me
Reminds me of the terror of
The places I have walked in.
All the strength is gathered in
That you wanted me to have
And now it's time to travel on,
Through you, not without you,
For I'll always have the memory
Of the first time that I saw you,
Rising from the water
With the moon behind you.
